Blended Bloom Card - by Gretchen Barron

05_10_14_The gorgeous colors and this week's sketch seem a natural for a color-blocked card. So striking and so very quick and easy to create! Gotta love it when that happens!

I used the (soon to be released) Blended Bloom Stamp (available beginning June 2nd) as the focal image. It's colored using the new Blendabilities Alcohol Markers which will be coming soon from Stampin' Up! in shades of Pumpkin Pie. The cardstock colors come fromt he challenge -- Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo, Elegant Eggplant and Pear Pizzazz. The sentiment is from the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set (retiring soon) and I used Dazzling Details to give the flower a little bling! A complete list of supplies is listed below. By clicking on any thumbnail, you can go directly to my online store to place an order for anything you see.

05_10_14_cHere's the Dimensions that I used:
  1. Layer One -- Cardbase -- Tangerine Tango cardstock cut at 5.5 x 8.5", scored and folded
  2. Layer Two -- Elegant Eggplant Cardstock cut at 4 x 5.25"
  3. Layer Three -- Melon Mambo Cardstock cut at 3 7/8" x 2 3/4"
  4. Layer Four -- Tangerine Tango Cardstock cut at 1 7/8" Square
  5. Layer Five -- Pear Pizzazz Cardstock cut at 1 7/8" square
Now, what did I say about this being a quick and easy card! It's truly amazing!

So there you have it! I do hope you'll find some time to get creative this weekend and maybe even be inspired to use my challenge. Make sure and leave a comment if you do! Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there and to everyone who has a mother! I saw a TV commercial the other day which uses that old favorite tag line, "When you care enough to send ..." You know the one I'm talking about. Well, this year make it a hand-made card that you send to your mother. That will truly be the very best!
