I was so excited when I kept seeing these
fun Deco Mesh Wreaths on Pinterest.. and I really wanted to make one,
but wasn't inspired to do so until I saw my friend Cindee making a
wreath... then I knew I had to go buy the supplies and try one for
myself!!
So, on Thanksgiving Day, I embarked on my
Deco Mesh Wreath Journey.. and voila, WOW are these things faaaaaaaast
and easy or what? Some of you saw my post on Facebook.. thanks for your
kind comments! :)
These are the 2 wreaths I made.. they took about 3-4 hours total.
One is on our door and one is above the fireplace.
These are pretty large.. about 24" in diameter and really fluffy and colorful!
I decided to add my little paper angels from last year to the wreath above the fireplace when I came across them while decorating the tree:
I bought the supplies at a variety of
craft and big box stores and even some supplies at the dollar discount
stores.. you can find all sorts of GREAT bargains for Christmas decor
items right now!
I used 1 roll of 21" wide mesh per wreath plus about a 1/2 roll of the 6" wide mesh.
Hobby Lobby had the 16" wreath bases with the pipe cleaners already on them.. SO convenient!
Here is the 411 - the How To - on the Deco Mesh Wreaths!
To embellish, try adding strings of holiday ornaments or other garland
Add a 2nd layer of mesh all the way around for added fullness:
For added color contrast, use a small roll of another color:
I found these cute glitter bulbs at the craft store and strung 3 together on a pipe cleaner and added those to one of the wreaths
What do you think... it's so fun.. a great Christmas Craft for this season!
