Easel Card Instructions by Cathy Parlitsis

Gatefold Easel Card

I love both Gatefold Cards AND Easel Cards - so when I saw this card that is BOTH, I knew I had to make one!  The original creator of the Gatefold Easel Card is Dayanna Donng - you can see her blog HERE and she has kindly given me permission to share this with you!  (Thank you!) I've created my own version of it with a VIDEO and PDF below so you can see EXACTLY how it is done.
Fabulous
The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock and the layers are Designer Series Paper so all of the "work" is in the cutting and scoring - and then of course, embellishing! I made this one for my High School Class President who planned our Reunion last weekend.

I tried to keep the "work" simple on the card while still making it "look" nice.  Framelits and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine made that easy.  All supplies are Stampin' Up! and are available in my ONLINE STORE.  The PDF has a full supply list as well.Reunion Card

Step-By-Step Directions

1.  Put an 8 ½" x 11" piece of card stock into the Paper Trimmer and score vertically at 2 1/8" and then flip over and score at 2 1/8" from the other side.

2.  Turn card stock horizontally and score at 2 ¾" and 5 ½".

3.  Turn it vertically again. This time, put the edge of the card stock at 2 ¼" - Cut from the top down to 5 ½". Flip the card stock and repeat it on the other side. Then remove those pieces by either cutting with
a scissor or use your paper trimmer as shown in the video.

4.  Fold all your score lines and you'll quickly see how your card will come together. Take the 4 panels of Designer Series Paper you cut at 1 7/8" x 5 ¼" and adhere them to your card panels - inside and out.

5.  Adhere the 3 ¾" x 5 ¼" piece of Designer Series paper to the 4" x 5 ¼" Crumb Cake card stock.

6.  Put Sticky Strip on the bottom panel of the easel - as shown in the video - and adhere the Crumb
Cake/DSP piece to the panel - MAKING SURE NOT TO ADHERE THE TOP!

7. Attach a glue dot to a piece of Early Espresso Stitched Ribbon and wrap around the inside piece of Very
Vanilla card stock - secure with a glue dot on the other side. Adhere this piece to the inside of your
card. This will create the STOP for the easel card.

8. Stamp "A Million Thanks" onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock in Early Espresso Ink. Stamp
"Fabulous is What You Are" onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock in Early Espresso Ink. Using the
Framelits - Labels Collection, center the Framelit that best fits your greetings over the words and run
them through the Big Shot to cut them out. Cut out a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock to border the
"Thanks" greeting for the front of your card..

9.  Use the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions Folder to emboss the Crumb Cake cut out.

10.  Sponge the edges of both of your greeting pieces and your Crumb Cake cut out as well. Adhere the "Thanks" Greeting to the Crumb Cake cut out using sticky strip.

11.  Adhere the "Fabulous" greeting to the inside easel card using SNAIL Adhesive.

12. Put 2 pieces of Sticky Strip on the back of the Crumb Cake cut out/greeting - BUT¼only put it on ONE
HALF of the piece because you are only adhering it to ONE SIDE of the card!

13.  Decorate the points of the greetings using Pearl Basic Jewels.

14. Punch out a piece of Calypso Coral card stock with a 7/8" Scallop Punch and sponge it with Crumb
Cake Ink and a Stampin' Sponge. Adhere a Very Vintage Designer Button to the punch out using Glue
Dots. Embellish the button with a Large Pearl Basic Jewel. Adhere to the front of the card.

15.  Spritz card with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, if desired.
